From my experience the sqad based Voip stuff works great if you're in a real squad that knows what the heck its doing.  This seems to occur approximately 0.0023% of the time.  I'd rather just have all of us goofing off in TS and use it more like the FFA chatter from CS than for any strategic purpose.

Either way the game is a blast.  Does anyone have any insight on how to get in and get connected to a server quickly, I find that I spend most of my time waiting for the global server list to update.

So, i put some more thought into it and i always thought it was fun in CS to have all talk on so you could talk trash to the guy you just headshotted.  BOOM!  HEADSHOT!  So maybe this would be good for BF2 as well.  Sure there is the option of cheating, but cheating only results in name-calling and such...so pretty much, do as you will

speaking of how I now have Verizon FIOS; what say we give it a little test run and I set up a BF2 32 player server for my 10mb/2mb connection?  that's Fiber optic buds.

You can speed up the server refresh by putting in search criteria *before* you download the list. It applies the filter server-side...

I'm good with TS for kicks. I like the button-free speaking. I think BF2 audio is "push-to-talk".

The only hacks I've heard of for BF2 is custom textures that make the other players stand out (IE- OS-level). From what I understand, it's much harder to hack the game engine than CS.

As far as a KungFu-sponsored BF2 server, David Carradine would approve, grasshopper.

like I said earlier, I have this game now and would like to play it sometime.  I'm also getting a new graphics card to showcase my running and jump to prone moves.
