It's a shame that the Guild Wars gameplay is not more fun over time.  I think one of the things about this game is that I don't really feel like any items I find will really make that much of a difference in my abilities.  I wish the weapons/armor/items were more unique and offered cooler differentiation of stats or bonuses or something.

But, you have to admit these turtles are cool:

i set up my 2nd computer last night... used to be a linux box but i got tired of having a scrubby pc as my 2nd... so i reformatted my athlon 1800xp.  i installed some guild wars because i remember i used to play the beta on that and played some guild wars while i watched our strategytalk css server be empty for about 3 hours.  man i got so bored with guild wars i just cut it off out of frustration... i am not even sure i'm going to go through with buying factions because all i do is run around and kill stuff and find nothing cool....  diablo2 keeps my interest more...  not to mention i was on some stupid mission where i had to carry an item from one place to another about 10 times....  those missions are fun like once....

i hear you buddy.  I'm not sure I'm going to buy factions either.  While the whole "alliance" thing sounds pretty cool, the gameplay seems mostly like more of the same.  That might work for a lot of people, and I loved going through the missions and learning the different skills, but the fact remains:

Gaining skills is a pain, and gets very expensive.

Items and Armor just don't seem to reward you much.

The team-based approach works great if you have 150 active friends that would love to join up with you and do whatever.  But, otherwise it is really hard to jump in and out and do well.  * I'm still kind of deliberating on joining up with a larger guild.  At least then, you'd have people to do stuff with regularly.

So, I'm gonna wait on Factions too.  Who knows, maybe a new MMORPG will come along that all of us will want to play...  whether that is EQ2 or WoW, or something else... I don't know.
