ok so apparently I can get a netflix subscription and gain access to watch any movie through my Xbox 360 instantly at any time and unlimited....  umm in comparison to my blockbuster subscription that sounds awesome!

Blockbuster currently gives me up to 3 movies at a time, as many as I want per month so I usually get about 6-7 for $15.99/month

NetFlix price plan:
Quote
$8.99 a month - 1 DVD out at-a-time
(Exchange DVDs as often as you want) plus
Instantly watch online on your PC or Mac or instantly on your TV via a Netflix ready device - all for no additional monthly fee. Instantly watch as often as you want, anytime you want.

I mean I wouldn't even need the Dvds if I was able to watch them instantly at any time... uh that rules for 8.99/month... better than having all the movie channels and more cost effective for sure!

oh wait, sounds like it is more like an on-demand thing like comcast offers with their service...  not that great a deal after all but it is promising for the future.  Looks like Blu-Ray players and the Tivo HD DVR also support this technology so I will probably still switch just to make use of the added perk

How many choices are available to watch instantly via a Netflix ready device?
There are over 12,000 movies & TV episodes available to watch instantly, but very few are new releases. It's a separate, smaller library from our over 100,000 DVD titles.

Yeah, we do the netflix thing for $9 a month.  Besides the one DVD we get at a time, I can log in anytime to netflix and choose from a ton of watch instantly movies.

Last night we watched An Ideal Husband, and then I watched My Blue Heaven.  My Blue Heaven is awesome.  Not exactly the best movies of all time for your selection, but still cool with a fairly decent selection.  Doesn't usually include any really popular ones though.

ok so I've started my free NetFlix trial and only after one night I'm sure that I will probably cancel Blockbuster and use NetFlix instead.  the wife and I immediately set up The Office and 30 Rock previous seasons to watch over the Xbox 360.  Basically you just add them to your "Instant Queue" from a PC and then you watch them from the 360.  The quality was HD for both shows and I think this will get much use because I've always wanted to be able to watch those comedies but did not really have the DVR space to keep them on there... especially considering I was a few seasons behind and could grab all the re-runs too.  With this feature I can watch them instantly and as many times as I want without taking up any space on my DVR.  Pretty killer.  I did notice a little framerate jitter in some more action packed shows... so I probably won't be watching the latest action triller on this service, but just to have instant access to the additional content at no extra charge is a real nice bonus feature...
