ok good EE game monkey.  didn't expect us to remember how to play so easily after a week or so of down time.  when i saw that clubmen rush i was a little worried ;-)

hopefully elvis can join us again soon.  we have so many games to catch up with too... cause i miss all these rts ones (RoN, AOK, Wc3... C&C?  yeah....)

Such hax.

I'm gonna have to come up with a new strategy.  I think it'll involve researching time travel at the very end of the game so I can go back to the beginning of the game and give my cavemen clubs with frickin' lazer beams.

haha, sounds like fun guys.  who knows when I'm around.  I'm having some fun in BF2 when I get a few free minutes, but I'm really into these RTS games right now too.  (still barely getting time to play though)

In other news, Sony sent me a postcard saying they re-activated by EQ2 account for the next 2 months for free.  So, I'll at least log in to EQ2 and give all my stuff and equipment to Shaolin sometime in the next little bit.

ahh  more good times...  playing with higher resources is one way to ensure fights in the later epochs... i think we should try this more and definitely play this way with elvis since the early epochs tend to be the ones where you lag more due to no food... also that extra stone gives you more of a chance to secure enough resources early on so you can upgrade.

Yeah, its definately a different dynamic with higher resources.  There's not as much desire to go throwing a bunch of clubmen at the other base if you know they're just going to have towers up everywhere.

i'm not sure if it is necessarily a good thing but it does seem reduce the potential for an early economy shortcoming that could cost you the game...  like not seeing a heard of antelope...

on a completely different note, I updated my 7600 drivers 2 nights ago and it resolved several long-standing issues that I have been having with that card.  The drivers I grabbed were released 9/27.

WORD to progress...

man i had some fun playing EE over the weekend.  I find that I am playing when I wake up on saturday/sunday a lot... kinda like watching cartoons when i was a kid (or still do...).  superfriends ftw.  anyways, i played a random match with the computer and used game variant: "Tournament" instead of "Standard" and the freaking upgrade costs were like 10% of what they are in standard.  i got all the way to digital age before it wouldn't let me upgrade anymore.  it seems that when playing versus the computer if you are toying around then it won't let you upgrade more than 2-3 epochs farther than the computer.  i was sending nuclear strikes versus knights so i guess that makes sense.  but it was fun to check out all the units.  later i played a game straight at nano age just to check it out... man that is soo funny.  it is  like a whole new game with all the mechs available and laser towers... it's like a C&C game hidden inside EE.  good stuff.

yeah i don't really play versus the computer to try and win since it cheats so bad it's just not that fun.  Even on Easy it creates a tower every few tiles of it's turf within 5 minutes of the start even though you only start with 200 stone.  I think maybe the only valuable thing I have learned is how to siege towers...  other than that it can't fight worth a crap and throws random units at you.  The only thing the harder difficulties do is attack earlier and more frequently

Totally.  Nothing like being 50 minutes into a game, having already survived a rush of 20+ clubmen and stone throwers, only to have about 20 samsons 15 clubmen and some assorted spears/slingers flood your base.  Clearly we're not operating under the same ruleset.
